Anyone else feeling like ranked is kinda boring?

You win some, lose some but it just doesn’t feel right to me. 19 was fun/challenging, no weird disconnects, hitting was more rewarding. Not sure what’s going on here but it just hasn’t been fun in 20. Maybe it’s the rona vibe and the constant hangers? Don’t really know. One game plays great, the next is a lag fest. You guys feeling the same way and gravitating towards other modes? I’m enjoying playing a season with the Phillies and also Road to the Show, just not ranked. Disclaimer- I typically love ranked and that’s what I spend the most time on.

I love ranked. I might be one of the few who actually like the game as well. I can’t sit and play all day like I use to. But I’m still having fun with it. The content has been good, and keeping into the game.

Interested to hear if u prefer events over it? I like the idea being done in 15-20 minutes a game,

I don't think its ranked i think its the gameplay inconsistencies. You're right, one game is a lag fest or the ball just plops off the bat. The next game is smooth and the ball just gets great exit velocities. Content has been great and the only thing keeping me logging in almost everyday. Definitely not addicted like in years past. Offline seasons and road to the show are a total time waste and just filler in my opinion. If i am not playing vs another human i find it pointless.

I wonder if people complain more because they are playing more this year. Everyone is playing more because of the virus I already double the play time of last year and double the ranked games. Last year most of the time I only had time for one game. I remember a lot of games last year too being a lag fest. But I do think that the animations and hitting is off.

I have played 21 ranked games so far. I got the game at preorder. It’s not the virus for me it’s the online play. I use to be a online addict, this year I’ve played way more offline as I just am not feeling h2h this year.

I prefer events and other modes because in ranked I feel like the hitting is the worst. Especially on HOF

If they could find a way for the H2H to play like offline, Ranked would be absolutely phenomenal. I guess it the P2P connections that hold it back. Also, I’m not sure why they feel they need to have varying difficulty levels across the different modes. All star should play like all star regardless of your playing a season or H2H.

Yeah I should be doing that.. sitting around 24-22 this season, my worst so far.. Had fun with the POTM but that's done.. i'm going to try one more run with more original guys I used last season.. adding Paxton, taking out Leiter ....

I loved MLB 19, I was top 200 and honestly I believe that 19's content and delivery was a lot better then 20. I am tired of doing the same showdown 100 times to unlock cards, or spend stubs on exchanges. I have played 1 game in a week and I really don't want to. I want to use some of the new cards, but I just dont feel like playing ranked either. The poor gameplay, poor pitching, and honestly boring grind takes the game back 5 steps to where they were in 19. I would love to enjoy playing again, if we had 19 game play, 5th inning bosses, and maybe like three stage 3 infinity. I LOVED 20 during the pre-release. I went 12-1, only lost 1 game to a disconnection. Game drops day one, they add a hitting patch that ruined the game the rest of the year. I'm hoping mlb 21 will go back to fun game play and not make you do the same thing 500 times to unlock cards without spending stubs.

Between Kluber and Newhauser they have about 30 of my 71 wins. the rest have been a revolving door of pitchers, but i think once i have paxton ill be happy

Hitting in 19 was more rewarding? I think you're confused with maybe previous version because 19 was infamous for good/good, and squared up lineouts. A problem that existed from beginning to end, and it even feels like it's lingered over into 20 with good/good, squared up, and perfect/perfect lineouts; although some may argue that.
Imo, gameplay is garbage in ranked seasons for 20, especially pitching. But as much as I think gameplay is garbage, I still play it. My experience has been 95% frustration and 5% fun. So I suppose that means I have fun getting frustrated.
