Slow Catcher outruns fast baserunner
-
Maybe SDS can explain this: Batter has 80 speed, catcher has 30 speed. Batter swings misses 3rd strike that is dropped. Batter runs to 1st base and gets a decent lead over the catcher who picks up the ball and chases him to 1st base. About 2/3s of the way down the line, the catcher, catches and tags out the batter. HOW does that happen in any reality?

I’m done with threads of people complaining.

Complaining really? Sounds more like a bug.

I always hated that too, BUT, if it following a K then you should always be thrown out at first IMO.

IRL some guys dont even run, even if they are 4 times as fast as the catcher. because they know the catcher will just throw them out. There are a lot of little things like this that aggravate me about this game, but this isnt one of them. It does kinda go with realism. Guys dont normally sprint down the first base line after a dropped 3rd strike unless they clearly see the ball get far away from the catcher, which is rare.

Need a clip. Not doubting it happened, just really want to see it.
Also that would help the devs with what to do to fix it if it’s determined it needs fixing.

Do it against toxic bunt dancers for a good laugh, the catcher is like a road runner.

I'm amazed how at fast the catcher can get out front of the plate on a pop up but he can't get out of his rocking chair on a bunt
