I've been playing online more often, but I still only get in maybe one RS game a day, and I'm not the best player. I love the idea of prestiging a card, but it feels like such a lofty goal. Is it something I should strive for? Does it make a noticeable difference?

For example, I was in the process of trying to prestige Mantle, Ellsbury and Sheffield in the outfield, and Bellinger at first. Now, I have Walker, Ortiz, Davis, Gwynn and Killebrew to throw into the mix. Should I continue on with my original plan (they're all only about 20-25% complete), or throw in the new FOF cards to prestige them? Not to mention I feel like it will take so long for me that there's going to be a better card down the road that will trump the card I've spent so much time trying to prestige...

    Thoughts?

Certain cards it can make a big difference (79 to 82 power, 89 to 92 fielding, etc.), but the general consensus is it really doesn't matter a ton.

For me though, I've been grinding prestige cards since Oswalt, and have a good chunk of them done. I find it really enjoyable to do, and it makes me use players I normally wouldn't. To me it's a blast, and I get a kick out of seeing the red diamond when it's finally done.

To each their own, but my goal this year is to prestige all cards that I can. They threw a real curveball at me by releasing 30 prestigable cards at once though...lol.

Yeah stats doesn’t matter ... I’m only doing it because i have a feeling SDS will say ...ok 10 red diamonds for Honus.

Just trying to be ready to get Honus day 1.

I feel offline players will revolt if there's a prestige requirement for a Honus-type collection. I can see them doing five prestige cards, the number you can get through XP progress. But, you never know.

I don’t think it will be 10. It will either be 0 or 5(there is 5 free ones through the prestige path). Last year the Honus collection made the point that honus was the most expensive card irl so it should be expensive in game. I personally don’t believe that cards not available on the market will be required for Honus. FOTF maybe but half are in the market and half are not

No they won't. That would exclude all the offline players to obtain Honus and that will cost SDS money. Simple logic my man, have fun grinding though.
