Back After a Few Months Off

Back after taking a break for a few months. Glad I didn’t delete anything, now it’s time to get back into The Show. I know nobody cares but my question is what’s new? Help me get sort of caught up.
Thanks all

Yeah free packs from Conquest are actually decent. Just pulled Bellinger in a 5 pack bundle from the new map.

Just get ready to be frustrated, because the game will [censored] you off

lots of offline grinding to get the good cards, but nothing much other than not making political team names (or meme names mocking them)

Positive: tons of free packs and cards with TA, monthly awards, programs and conquest
Negative: gameplay is not the best. Exit velocities are insanely bad and inaccurate. Good timing with the ball fully in the pci is 85 mph exit velocity. Hitting in TA3 is nerfed to where everything dies off the bat

Team Infiniti 3 has some fantastic cards. I recommend doing exchanges instead of grinding mindless versus the computer.
They are also sellable on the market which is cool. Gameplay is the same except for some fancy graphic that shows your bat now but nothing has changed as far as the exit velocities or whatever. Pitching is still buns and sometimes you can center up a perfectly timed fastball for an exit velocity of 82 and the next pitch your PCi could miss the ball and it could be a no doubt shot to center field. Enjoy! -
Sup Matt, glad to see you back again. As everyone said, team affinity is the way to go, these new cards are juiced and fun. Also, get your [censored] to 300 stars, because the current inning bosses are filthy. That’s content, now time for my regularly scheduled rant about gameplay. Again.
Gameplay seems a little more balanced, but it’s still prone to making you smash your face against a wall from time to time, I cannot even attempt to take this game seriously this year in a competitive sense, I’m afraid. I’ll play a few games that seem reasonable, with 5-3 scorelines and so on, it’s almost like actually playing a baseball game, then suddenly I’ll go into a game and my opponent will smash every single pitch over the wall and mercy me 10-0, despite the fact their batter analysis shows mediocre input.
It’s so random, I wouldn’t say jack [censored] if these were high calibre players, every time I play a top player I get my [censored] kicked, however, this is not the case. The only way I can explain it is that it feels as though the game randomly decided to [censored] my ERA up and gave my opponent all those trashy home runs. Then I think; I wonder if that is how my opponent felt when I won the game. Then I think; this game is just a random series of orchestrated events that aren’t really in my control, or that of my opponent. If the game decides to hand out a home run on a PCI placement of 10 or 11 and bad timing (usually Early or Very Early), but forces a line out on a P/P or 14-15 with good timing, then input is largely irrelevant and the game is a series of arbitrarily simulated results, with user input being way down the list of decisive factors. This is the problem with ‘20.
You can’t hit well. You can’t pitch well. You can’t even field a routine play, unless the game decides you can. When it decides you can’t, you won’t. When it decides to hang a change up on good input so your opponent can homer on a 10 E swing, there’s nothing you can do to stop it. So basically, control of outcomes via the medium of user input is an illusion and it’s not being executed very well at all. Maybe we should call David Blaine or Penn and Teller to the dev team, because SDS aren’t fooling me with this illusion of user control.

I think I need to take a break.... This weekend has been frustrating.. Most on me, some on the game...last year Ws... This year just touched CS last season... Sitting in the 600s and in a rut... Pron 10-10 this weekend.. Maybe it's all the new cards and the constant trial and error in lineups... But maybe I need to take a week off...

I made WS without too much difficulty every season since late ‘17. This year I’ve managed to make CS once (peaked at 896, lol). I’ve played almost exclusively all star RS this year, as a result my ERA stinks and I feel like it’s the worst version of MLB the show I’ve ever played. On reflection, I believe my views are biased towards this being an absolutely awful game as a result of playing at this level, with moronic opponents, nonsensical outcomes and all the BS that goes along with all star difficulty. In previous years, I hated all star and would grit my teeth and plough through it to get to HoF where I would usually stay, floating between 750-850 most of the time, so it’s really no surprise I find this game to be absolutely disgusting to play online, when my opinions are formed by the quality of gameplay on all star.
It’s partly that the game is more random than ever and partly my life circumstances not allowing me as much time to play this year, which means I don’t have the time or inclination to overcome the all star hurdle. The end result is the same though. A bitterly disappointing baseball gaming experience that’s lacking in many respects.
