SDS ruined showdowns

Showdowns were pretty enjoyable for stage 1 and 2 but stage 3 just feels unbearable. The difficulty feels highly altered to have the sliders against you and this isn’t coming from a bad player. The missions are also not FUN but TEDIOUS. You tell me to hit a walk off that’s fine It adds to the moment but tell me to get the lead on the top of the 9th and then have to pitch it then becomes tedious. Instead of having to get 2 runs you now have to get 2 runs and while having XBH. They just made it incredibly annoying to get through these showdown moments.

I’m not even going to touch them. Just going to buy who I want from TAs off the market and whoever I earn along the way is just something to sell. It’s like paying interest to get to use them now.

I would do it for the packs and xp but man they really shat the bed with these horrible moments
-
I think they're still very manageable. You get plenty of outs to earn along the way to the final boss and the difficulties are still all on veteran. Sure, lots of cheese happens like always. But not enough to not be successful imo.
-
I saw this Lefty Grove moment, having to get CG shutouts against this AI is pretty maddening I must say
-
I’m 0-3, did horrible on moments only getting like 7 runs, got mb 7 runs in final boss, then had a great moment run getting like 10 runs and couldn’t get 6 in final. The 3rd attempt was just horrible lol. I’m kinda bummed bc I was achieving showdowns like 90% success rate
-
I've definitely lost more than the other rounds but thats also because the litchers are better. My main annoyance is that 90% of the missions are "get 2 strikeouts and score 2 runs". Give us some variety
-
I played the east showdown once so far and the last 6 side missions were all really irritating. They were all the same garbage requirements about scoring 2 with some other stats attached.
-
Showdowns are easy as hell
-
The problem is every "moment" is the same score 3 runs without giving up etc.... It's just very mundane.
They should've made some better moments and throw some pitching only hitting only ones. -

Difficulty and repetitiveness are two very different complaints.

This right here is the problem that arises when you make stage 2 so simple.
For me, part of the fun of showdown is the chance that I might not beat it. Sure, some of it is eyeroll inducing but if you don’t like it, save your stubs, buy the stage 3 guys, and play the easily beatable conquest games to get your TA points.

I have posted about showdowns being too hard before and I have sent direct messages to @Collin_SDS and @Victor_SDS (with no response) about the difficultly in the level 1 showdown. To this day, I have never beat a stage 1 showdown...I have won one stage two showdown, but the challenge is for someone who doesn't enjoy MTO, I only have one team (the cubs) who is even at stage 2 for team affinity. As someone who has worked a very stressful job (75-80 hours per week) video games have always been a source of release for me. It was always something that I felt contributed to my mental health...Then I went 0 for what seemed like 50 on stage 1 showdowns in April/May and I knew it was time to take a break when I had serious thoughts about hurting myself.
I picked the game back up a few weeks ago and will never play showdown again unless it's more reasonable. I'm fine with @janoosh 's opinion that the chance that you might not win is fun. But going winless is completely depressing and mentally exhausting. Maybe they should let us pick our difficulty levels for lower rewards and actually have the difficulty levels play as advertised.
I know there are other ways to accumulate TA through exchanges, but I've always been a no money spent guy (maybe SDS is trying to alienate me) and this will hopefully be my first year ever completing the live series collection so I would prefer to save stubs for those rather than exchange for TA.
-
I'm just planning to do exchanges and naturally get team player innings over time to get stage three. I have no intention to grind another level of Showdown.
(I agree that the earlier phases were bearable and sometimes enjoyable.)

Mental exhaustion is good!! It’s how you get better.

I’m focusing on the nl/al central. Then I’m going to go through the al/nl East and finish with the west. But I have cards I wanted from each team. In my opinion the central is the easiest. You face woods, lodolo or the brewers future star.

Moments are stupid, the only thing worse is Showdown.
