Does anyone else stink with Rodney?

I know I'm not the greatest player but I cant pitch with him to save my life. I was really hoping he would be my budget BEAST. 11 ER in 12 IP. 2 L's 1 blown save. Solid him, flipped some cards, and bought Gagne.

Broke a 2-2 tie in the 8th (kluber v kluber obv) when he put Rodney in last night. His sinker doesn’t move so sharply and his change is easy to lay off on all star

I’m with you. I had zero control with him and when I would throw the occasional strike it was destroyed. Gave him 5 outings before finally throwing in the towel. Huge disappointment.

So far so good with him... I find his slider is not to be used much though..
Then again, relievers everyone loves I suck with, and relievers nobody likes I kill with...

Are you using the 4 seam or the sinker more often? Even though the sinker is primary, I've felt like the 4 seam is much harder to hit since its faster

He has Outlier on the Sinker, they are pretty close in velocity. It's definitely important to mix up the two to keep them off the sweet spot

Really? I though I remembered sinkers coming in around 95 mph in game but maybe I'm mistaken
Edit: you're right I was thinking about Six to Sanchez who has a similar repitoire without the outlier quirk

He's hit and miss. If he's on and you can locate he is good but if you can't locate or get calls on the black he gets rocked
I got rocked with him more often than not. Decided to go with Gagne and his Vulcan change lol

I've tried mixing his pitches to no avail. I feel like his sinker doesn't move at all. Honestly I've had the most success (relatively) with his change up because guys gear up for the velocity. Still get hit hard though. Had to sell.
