4th Inning Moment - Astros
-
I feel like such a baby whingeing here, but it is driving me absolutely insane. It's probably a distant memory for most of you, but I just cannot compete this moment. I reckon I've spent at least 12 hours on this one moment alone. A complete waste of time, as those 12 hours could be used to gain stubs, stars and XP elsewhere (or maybe even go out of doors irl); but I am determined to finish it.
It doesn't sound too hard on paper - 3 Ks, 3 Runs, 4 Hits, No runs allowed, Win - but I just can't get those hits off Cole. And since we are the home team, it is really only two innings at bat in which to get them, not three (unless I save the ALL runs for the bottom of 3rd). The one time I did get the hits and runs and only needed one more K; I got smacked around even with perfect pitches and let a run come in. I don't know what posting here will do for me, perhaps I am seeking camaraderie and also tips.
Currently I'm working on the strategy of letting them get a few hits in the 1st and 2nd so that they replace Cole when it's his turn to bat in the 2nd; that way I face a new pitcher in the bottom of the inning. It ain't working.
With 20 coming out, I suppose it doesn't really matter but I just can't let this defeat me!

So two hours of play tonight and all I have is a smashed controller. I got to only needing one more hit with only one out. Easy right? Nope.

I hate moments. If I find myself getting frustrated with them at all I move on, and usually never try that moment again. They aren't fun, and they certainly aren't worth wasting time on if it's making you angry.
-
There are several, i've said to hell with you and moved on. the homer off Hader with Chapman or Olson (can't even remember) and don't get me started on the second level of extreme moments...none of those are happening for me...

Take it to extra innings
-
If it is the moment I'm thinking of vs Cole just let the cpu score go to extra innings and you should get over with
-
As far as hits are concerned Ichiro could work with his speed even a bunt could get him on base. As for the 3 runs if you have a team that has at least Griffey, Gehrig, Bench, Robinson, and if you can afford it Ruth should get at least 4 runs for you. As for pitching I think I personally went with Gibson or Feller and used my bullpen for the last K. Good luck and don't give up.
And I also agree with WolfTrex77. Force extras and hit the Astros bullpen around
-
I see what you guys are saying about forcing extras. But the issue here is that if you go into extras at 0-0, you kinda have to bank on hitting a 3 run homer. If he's the home team and can't allow the Astros to score, if he scores one run in extras the game automatically ends.
-
Yah that is true. It's risky but if you can get 2 runs and let the Astros tie it 2 and then try to score the 3rd run off the bullpen
-
err nevermind I forgot you can't allow a run sorry
