I have played a lot...so I don’t know if I have gotten better with watching hitting tips and setter discipline or the patch helped...maybe some both

With zone being an absolute dumpster fire this year I am getting more tempted to switch with every center good/okay.

Here is the reason I ask......Last year every season I was border line world series...even made it a couple times. This year before they fixed hitting with like the 2nd patch it seemed like I could only win every other game and barely could make 700...after they fixed it I was back to championship over 800....now after the latest patch it seems like I am back to only winning half the time. I use zone. When I look at the players I am losing against it seems like they were only .500 players before the patch and now they win all the time. I am thinking directional is way too easy again.

Sounds like your trying to come up with reasons on why you are losing.
Besides, they didn't "fix" hitting with the second patch, they broke hitting. almost anyone will say that before that patch, hitting was way better.

You are just tying your in-game success/failure with patches, not actually making any observations.

It is not easier to see results. I've been a long time directional hitter switching to zone this year, and done some back and forth (usually when I lose my eye for the zone and get swing happy). Some bumps, but some observations:

With directional, yes, you will see good timing on balls right down the middle and miss. (You will crush many, but the misses are killer when you don't get that many per game).

Good luck protecting on that high inside 2 strike pitch.

Many opponents have tendencies that you might pick up on, and you can't sit on those spots with directional. This, to me is the biggest advantage even if I don't have the best PCI skills. Especially with certain pitchers; two strikes against Kluber? You can sit on that inside slurve to a right handed batter.

I don't know, others may be better versed or have better opinions, buy I know my averages with some of the best players are slowly going up with zone now instead of hovering around .200 - .250.

In fact, I say go ahead and switch for a game; I'd bet you go back to zone before the end of it. When I do switch to directional now when I'm struggling, I maybe last an inning before switching back to zone and just wait to come out of it.

So after seeing all the constant fussing about directional hitters on here I decided to try it for myself just to see how it performed. I played 5 RS games, These are the results...

I never had more than 5 hits in a game. Very often you can swing at a pitch down the middle with “good” timing and not even touch the ball. That happens ALOT. The only success I had was aiming up & in on the batter’s side to pull the ball for a homer, That worked ok...All in all though, It’s not a style you’re ever gonna hit consistently with.
