I haven't played DD in a few years. I remember that a few years ago that some players, even if they had great stats, weren't very good because they had a bad swing type. Or at least that's what everyone thought at the time. Is that the case this year? In addition to looking at a player's stats when I'm building my team do I need to dive in and learn about which swing types are good and which are bad, or is that less of a concern this year? Thanks.

Swing types definitely matter, but it doesn't make as much of a difference as it did in 17. Back then, guys such as Miggy, Ripken, and Arenado were completely unusable because of their swings. Now, players with slower swings are usable, it just comes down to personal preference.

Thanks dragon. I remember Arenado being one of the guys that should have been great. I had him too. It was disappointing when a cool new card came out - maybe an old legend with great stats but the card was lame from the get-go because of its swing type. Nice to know that while maybe it's still a consideration, its importance is less extreme.

The Dynasty Program in 17 was great, but it sure was disappointing when you got around to using Ripken and Miggy and began to understand the struggles of the topspin swing.
