Legendary Tips
-
I thought we could post some of our tips to help each other out in RTTS.
Overall tip use equipment. Gold equipment is relatively cheap. But upgrade to platinum when you can.
-
Upgrade your durability. There’s nothing worse than missing out on half the season and an MVP because of an injury that’s out of your control.
-
Pitching Tip - I like going with Filthy Arch Type with 1. Slider 2. Cutter 3. Changeup.
Pick equipment that focuses on K/9.
Sliders away to RH for the K.
Cutter up and in or Changeup low and away to LH for the K.
Even on 3-2 counts I try to get them to go outside the zone. They chase a good amount of the time.
Year 3 of my RTTS as a SP won MVP and CY Young on the Giants.
Legend difficulty.
-
Hitting Tip - I did Anomaly chicks dig the long ball.
I have Maverick as 1 of my top 2 traits. So I can guarantee a pitch inside on 0-0 counts. I also use guess pitch and directional. I’m old school MVP series can’t do PCI.
For equipment I focus on contact.
Hunt the fastball with guess pitch. Generally up in the zone. Use power swing when guessing right. Normal when I don’t know what’s coming.
When I have two strikes I use contact to stay alive until I guess right. Not uncommon for me to have 10 pitch at bats.
Currently in season 5 on my way to my first MVP sitting on 55 homers. Took me awhile to figure this out. 1 good thing about the Virus I got plenty of time to figure out hitting.

I always turn the injury slider all the way off. I got injured twice in one season during the first time I played RttS, and it probably cost me RotY. Never again.

Anyone else notice when the pitcher shakes off the catcher you get a high fastball when hitting?
