Is it the RL2755? I have that one and I play on standard, only reduce the brightness to preference.

I turn the black equalizer to zero and I have instant on and Ama off. This set up works best for me. I know most will say to have the Ama on.

Anyone use the gl2780? It seems to be spec'd very close to the rl2755 but it's significantly cheaper at Adorama today

With it being 1080p on a 27in screen, does it bother you? I’ve read anything bigger than 24 should have 1440p. Just curious bc I’ve been searching for a good 27in 1440p monitor the last few weeks.. Every time I find one I like it’s backordered bc of everything going on.

When you guys say it makes a big difference, what is the difference you're talking? Is it better frame rate so you see it better and have more time to react?

Also, what size monitor are we talking when you guys get one? I'm on an older Samsung TV, and I try (TRY) to relax and sit back on my couch. My eyesight is starting to be an issue and sometimes I'll get closer to the TV. But I really like to try and relax while I play. Are your monitors small, do you all sit up right close to them kind of like having a "gaming station," if you will?

I have the Benq RL2755T on a small stand on wheels butted right up to my recliner off to one side so the foot rest can be out. Better response time then older Tv's on game mode imo.

Yes, more time to react. Fastballs become a joke compared to playing on TV. My problem is i'm too early on a lot of pitches now and haven't been able to fix the problem, so i can't play online, leaving too many runs on the table so to speak. Too many rallies squashed because i was early on a meatball. Happens too much, but i can't go back to tv.
I do suggest a monitor though. I have a 24" Ben Q. It's new so i forgot the model, but i love it. I broke my first one throwing my The Show cap at it about 90mph, thanks to Showdown. It makes a difference in racing games as well.

Maybe I need it because I played a ranked game against Feller last night and absolutely couldn't hit the fastball. And thus, couldn't time the offspeed because I was also trying to adjust for the fastball. That speed differential killed me. I dont know what it was, but I had no chance against the fastball. Really, I've struggled against anyone that can hit 97-plus.

But again, I'm sitting back on my couch on an old TV.

It does not bother me, but that being said I did grow tired of this monitor. I've been playing on it since MLBTS 16 and had lots of success with it, but I wanna upgrade. Only reason I'm not doing it now is because I'm waiting for the PS5 and then just get a fitting new monitor to go with it. But this monitor is fine from a competitive standpoint, it's not the best looking since it's a TN panel but it does have 1ms response time (not to be confused with input lag), which is pretty much top notch at the moment.

Response time is a marketing lie, it literally means how fast a grey pixel is able to change color. Input lag is what you really wanna look at, that's how long the delay is between what you (or your opponent) input on your device and when you see that input in real time on your screen. Most 1ms response time monitors sit around 10-15ms input lag and most TVs in game mode will sit around 30-70 based on what kind of TV you have and game mode and such. So it does make a difference. But input lag is always most important.

It’s painful right now. Can’t find a highly rated monitor anywhere right now. I’m getting murdered by high heat. As soon as they figure it out that’s all they throw. My TV is a Vizio E80-E3 and got a pretty good gaming rating but is great for movies. The input lag makes it impossible to catch the fastball. Only game I’ve ever noticed it on is The Show and its a huge deal.
