Sweet! I had a feeling he was worth a try. That other diamond Roy was pretty good for me.

Man, I’m stub rich like everyone. I just can’t bring myself to spend that much on Gagne. And he’s about the only guy I really want and it’s still too much for me. Rather just have some fun mixing and matching different guys.

I forgot to add, that ends up being what kills me in moving up. I keep getting close but I am just not there to World Series yet. Then again I have only played like 30 ranked games this season. I am too busy doing all the other events and BRs that I seem never to have time to play RS.

Took the Griffmeister, so now my "Legend" Outfield is Murphy, Griffey, and Vlad

Depending on your stubs you could probably get Mays.

My outfield is LF Griffey, CF Mays, RF Ichiro. All three have 94+ arms and 90+ accuracy and 90+ fielding. Griffey may go down to high 80's with secondary penalty but worth it.

I could probably sell my way to a handful of players, but I still need the 3-5 most expensive LS cards and I'm not starting from a very high stubcount (I have a habit of just buying random packs to see if I get something)

Does the 20 wins in a week seem a little crazy? I get to play for maybe an hour or so a night. That means I have to be almost perfect to get enough wins in a week to get the 20.

I personally like Bench a C - he has been clutch to me. Has highest BA on my team, decent power. Griffey holds HR with Bench in 2nd.

I had a player last night the paused with every new batter... I'm like you do not need to analyze every batter! Quite annoying

I think it also depends on how you play the outfield I dont play where you have to get the bar in the green. I have seen it actually work to my advantage playing in fenway. My opponent dove and it would have been a easy catch without the dive but it hit the end of the glove and went into the stands for a home run. I rarely make errors but also play with high defensive players

We have the same DD team name and that is awesome.

Avert the eyes of the children if someone says ballz though on a forum about baseball. Can’t let them see that.

Inconsistent is my middle name. In RS I made WS for the first time last season, surprisingly I made it pretty easily considering I was barely able to crack CS before that. At the start of this season I made it it to 850 with maybe 1 or 2 losses....

Current Status: almost falling all the way out of DS...

I almost put the game away for good a couple days ago.

Frank is for sure my go to righty pinch and finest yelich is my go to lefty...pretty sure im batting almost .500 with frank and 4 homers in like 27 AB. Hes a killer!!!

Same. My bench is Yelich, Frank, Finest Marte, SS Reyes, and Jason Kendall. If I'm using my CAP at C then I swap Kendall out for SS Eddie Murray.

I have Sale and haven't used Ruth. I'm sure Ruth's bat is insane, but his defense wouldn't hold on my roster. The downside to Sale is you really don't want to go more than 6 innings and 5 is even more ideal. On the randomization of starters, I feel it all balances out, you might not get a starter to go once in every 5 games, but long term I feel like I've gotten my starters at a 20% clip.

Ruth’s defense is NOT good or OK. You could put probably 10 quality bats that have exponentially better defense in the OF. Ruth’s bat is special. Sale can go more than 6 easy. Just mix location and pay attention to confidence

I dunno I've been using ruth for this WS run and hes missed 1 ball over his head. his D isnt good but better than just ok. 64 speed is sneaky chasing down [censored]. my best hitter so far has been hornsby around .345. ruth after 100ABs is over 400 feel like he Homer's every game. best card in the game IMO

It’s not about missing [censored]. He doesn’t make errors. But there are [censored] that Rickey, Gwynn, Cobb, Griffey, Dawson, Bellinger, Edmonds, Trout and a bunch of other guys you would put in instead of him Ruth would get to that Ruth can’t make plays on.

That being said I give Ruth or Williams regular play in the OF.

Trout is the Truth 4 tool his arm is questionable lol - Pujols at 3B not too bad - except if a bullet is hit to his left slow reaction almost always a hit

Right now I have Dawson in LF, Ichiro in CF, and Gwynn in RF. I could hide Trout's arm in LF by taking out Dawson.

The problem with Pujols is that if I don't hit well with him there is no place for him on the bench unless I remove Big Frank. People talk about how much depth there is at 3B, but that has been the toughest spot for me to fill all year. I currently use Lindor/Omar Vizquel for diamond defense and the flexibility of a switch hitter in the lineup.

You have to try Josh Donaldson at 3B. For about 35k, he's got diamond defense, great power stats and smooth swing. My 3B for the longest (until Finest Arenado) with a quick bat and noticeable power. Worth a tryout, if you decide to sell that 900 star boss pick

Sale is good. But nobody is that good. I mean if you have everyone else you want then whatever. But if there is another player or 2 or 3 you might want to hold off. But then again it’s the end of the cycle...have fun

I don't know if I'd like to see him in game, but Billy Ripkin was always one of my under the radar favorite players who did not get the recognition he deserved. He played 12 years in the league and only had a career BA of .247...but he just made everyone around him that much better.

From 1987-1992, while big brother Cal never missed a game, Billy was averaging over 400 PA per year making sure that every Oriole around Cal was well rested. He servicably played every position on the field except P and C. Yeah, Billy Ripkin was never the superstar, but he will always be my idea of the ultimate 'Team Player.'

Just lost a 16 inning game. It was tied 1-1 going into the eighth. I scored one then he scored one. In the 11th, I scored two then he scored two. In the 12th through the 16th, I went three up three down while he got a runner on 1st and 2nd everytime. How he didn’t score in those innings is beyond me. In the 16th, Frank Thomas hit his patented early rollover double off the 3rd base bag. And he won off a bloop hit that poor Mike Trout had to fight through molasses to get to and then had the slowest throwing animation I’ve ever seen. Plus, I had to pee super badly the entire time. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go change my pants.

    That's so unfortunate.

That’s exactly what I said after Frank’s 16th inning hit careened off third base and shot into the stratosphere.

Early rollover shot into the stratosphere and let frank get to 2nd? U sure he didnt rip it down the line?

Are you questioning the validity of my retelling? Are you saying I changed a good/good hit by Frank to an early rollover because it would make people more sympathetic of my plight? You know, it’s possible. People often speak in hyperbole for added effect. Or it might be that it happened exactly the way I told it.

You are right. Both are possible. Which happened?

Do you have any reason to believe that I would lie?
