Shippett Stadium has become increasingly worn down due because of heavy use, and the areas beyond the outfield walls are in desperate need of repair due to the barrage of baseballs landing there, damaging the facility. Proposition 2-1 would tear down Shippett and use public stubs to build a new park. This new park is located down the mountain at sea level, close to the downtown core and is located In a very spacious plot of land, allowing for deeper outfield fences. Join me in voting yes on Prop 2-1, we deserve a better stadium
Paid for by Pitchers Against Shippett Committee.
15-14 “baseball” games. Early/late 40 degree launch angle home runs. ERAs above 8 for top ranked players. Home hunting galore. Shippett Stadium has been THE number one problem in Head to head games this year. Even those of you that like to play here have to admit it’s led to an incredible shift in how this game is played. Pitching, which is half of the game, simply doesn’t matter here. I hope SDS either adjusts this park, or removes it completely next year.
I come on to this forum and complain about comeback logic and how my opponent was taking advantage of animations. Then I talk about how much I know about baseball because I washed out at the college level 20 years ago and how I would win “if this was real baseball.” Then I shut off the phone, kick the leg of my coffee table and angrily cry myself to sleep.
Some of these players have been in previous versions of the game, some are virtually impossible due to rights issues, but here is a personal wish list of one player from each team I wish was in The Show.
Atlanta Braves - Hank Aaron Washington Nationals - Tim Raines Miami Marlins - Dontrelle Willis Philadelphia Phillies - Steve Carlton New York Mets - Dwight Gooden
Cincinnati Reds - Frank Robinson Milwaukee Brewers - Cecil Cooper Pittsburgh Pirates - Roberto Clemente Chicago Cubs - Ron Santo St Louis Cardinals - Willie McGee
San Francisco Giants - Barry Bonds Los Angeles Dodgers - Fernando Valenzuela San Diego Padres - Dave Winfield Arizona Diamondbacks - Randy Johnson Colorado Rockies - Vinny Castilla
New York Yankees - Derek Jeter Boston Red Sox - Roger Clemens Toronto Blue Jays - Dave Stieb Baltimore Orioles - George Sisler Tampa Bay Rays - Carl Crawford
Cleveland - Albert Belle Chicago White Sox - Wilbur Wood Minnesota Twins - Kirby Puckett Detroit Tigers - Lou Whitaker Kansas City Royals - Willie Wilson
Seattle Mariners - Ichiro Suzuki Los Angeles Angels - Jim Fregosi Texas Rangers - Rafael Palmeiro Houston Astros - J.R. Richard Oakland Athletics - Rube Waddell
Defunct Organizations - Satchel Paige, Josh Gibson, Cool Papa Bell, Jack Glasscock, Old Hoss Radbourn
Did I forget your favorite player? Did I list someone already in the game? Am I a [censored] moron? Leave your input below. Looking forward to your suggestions and comments.
I was not having fun with this game, it was getting frustrating. Every game got bogged down into 1-0 fastball fests. The patch seems to have changed all that. Timing windows have felt natural and hitting has felt more rewarding. Consequently, I’m seeing more variety of pitching now, and success on the hill still seems earned. Great job SDS. This couldn’t have been easy to do during the quarantine, but wanted to say thank you.
Overall, I think The Show is the best sports game on the market. The content is great, it’s not to greedy on microtransactions, has decent offline content for those not wishing to play online, and probably plays truer to its sport than any other game. However, there are ten glaring issues that have been plaguing online play for years that I wish were addressed in future versions of the game.
Pitching Check swings Home hunting Shippett The Sinker The extra step/pickoffs Glare/batters eye MLB stadium lag All star difficulty Peer to peer hosting/matchups
Hopefully out of these ten, one or two will be fixed. Once again, I love the game, but man it can be frustrating to run into these issues game after game, especially when you run into an opponent that knows how to exploit them.
And my opponent rage quits.
I’m still counting it.
Home hunt until you play at Shippett
Swing at anything
Wait for the RNG to bail you out with a hanger
Let the stadium carry a routine fly ball out of the park
Repeat for nine innings.
Don’t worry about pitching or knowing anything about baseball strategy, or even about being good. just make contact and the game and stadium will take care of the rest. That is the meta this year.

The full extent of my addiction became recognizable when the realization hit me that I may not be able to play MLB tonight because of PSN's server and I became a bit irritated for a hot second there... And of all nights, the one night where baseball was to be the escape from all the political garbage going down. Seriously, what am I going to do for the next 5 hours now? I may have to read a book... holy cow.

That’s exactly what I’m doing, reading Sid Meier’s Memoir. This has to happen tonight? Man I would love to lose an online game 10-2 right about now
Top of the ninth
Bases loaded
Two outs
3-2 lead
1-2 count
Jansen on the mound
Cutter aimed a few inches out side
Perfect release
RNG hanger right down the middle
Grand slam
[censored], they need to fix the pitching in this game. Us pitchers want our input rewarded too.

Goes to Jose Luzardo, the Lizard King. So happy to see this card back.
Congrats!!! I love pitcher homers. Not fun unless my homies get some. And is there any worse feeling for your opponent (or yourself) to give up a long ball to his counterpart. It’ll suck when SDS brings in the DH, which I’m will guessing will be next year.
@virusts_xbl said in How many have the Live Series collection completed by now?:
I am Mike Trout away. I was able to buy some expensive live cards in the last few weeks because of solid pulls and investing in a 150 Taylor Ward cards when he was silver. I am about 300,000 stubs away from him. I would have been closer but I was able to finish the Babe Ruth collection buying a few cards.
I took a bath on Babe Ruth. Don’t get me wrong, I love him, that syphilis ridden slob can mash. But I blew 200k on the Takashi Okazaki collection to unlock him right before the new cards came out, dropping the completion price considerably. C’est la vie.
Because I do not. I’ve been running into Trout/Clemente/Thomas/Johnson almost every RS game now and I feel I’m way behind. Still have DeGrom, Scherzer, Acuña, Ohtani and Trout to go. Seems like a mile away.

Congrats! I pulled Trout #2 on 6/16 and Trout #3 on 6/18. Then Scherzer and Tatis right after. Funny, I just pulled another Trout, and since they changed his lights to blue/purple, I thought I had another when I saw the angels logo. It was FotF Trout. 8k is 8k. Know when to quick sell. My luck this year has been stupid.

Congrats on your luck. Here’s some salt, if you’d like to pour it directly Into my open wound.
It’s crazy, I’ve had some years with luck similar to yours. This has been my story this year, a lot of low diamonds. I’ve read much worse luck stories on here, so I can’t complain too much.
Both were live series Chris Sale
Oh well. Not gonna turn down 7000 stubs

Now you know how Mad B U M (censored fir some reason) feels, threw a no hitter in an official 7 inning game but it didn't count because it was only 7 innings.
If it’s an official game, it should be a no hitter. I think he was a good commissioner, but screw Fay Vincent and his ‘91 rules committee for changing the definition
@eatyum_psn said in Third time I’ve lost a no hitter because opponent quit:
You didn't lose a no-hitter, you still no hit them and the opponent can't take that way from you just because it was 8.2 innings
True, I guess I should’ve said “completed no hitter.” Still sucks a little bit. I guess it’s no big deal, other than to my ego. Lol I need that ego boost though, been getting destroyed lately on both sides of the ball
One more out to go. It’s a 2-0 game. A bloop (or a hint, hell the game is still close enough to do that) and a blast can still tie it up. I know you’re getting no hit, but it’s still not over. If you’re going to lose, at least lose fighting, and if you’re going to get no hit, do it with dignity.

Wow interesting I thought you were lying about being at .550 ops lol so your good at pitching what’s the key? Any pitchers you like in particular? And also what pitch type are your go to sliider, fastball, sinker etc? I suck online but since I unlocked Randy Johnson like two week ago I finally played a H2H game earlier and won to my surprise 3-2. Granted my team was far superior to his though and I think I was playing in the 300-400 rank range.

I use each pitcher to their historical strength, try to tunnel pitches and keep guys off balance. Try to the throw the opposite of what they’re expecting at times.
I can’t wait to unlock Randy, big fan of his as a kid (as evidenced by my user name). I still have to complete Angels Braves and Mets. Im so jealous you have him.

I thought I was a dumpster fire lately in hitting and I just looked at my OPS and I am at .740. Dude that's very impressive. Hats off to you since I haven't reached Championship Series this year yet. I looked you up and [censored]. Actually your OPS is down to .548. That ERA of 1.91 is quite incredible.

And if that ERA was a quarter point higher, I’d probably plateau at 720
