@eatyum said in Who asked for the old 'crack of the bat' sound?: No... the new sounds were on perfect/perfect, not good/good. They still are. I hit a perfect/perfect today and it made the crack noise.

Nobody is disputing the perfect/perfect hits. Those SLAP. Maybe I am not making myself clear. Tomdawg explains it above, there is a lesser version of the new crack of the bat audio. It seems, imo, they've reverted back to a worse version, a sort of hollow sound instead. I can't be the only one to notice this...
Ummm, hello, SDS? Surprised I haven't seen more on this topic... One of the nicest new features has been nerfed. A good/good should not sound hollow like MLB19. Who asked for this? Legit, the 'crack of the bat' audio was going to keep me playing all year alone. Now that it sounds a lot more like MLB19, what's the point? You guys swung and missed on this one. Let's hope your next patch brings it back.
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/570190711?t=0h35m57s Here's a good/good homerun. It's hard to pickup all the audio because of the music, crowd and streamer talking but there is a 'trueness' to the crack of the bat pre-patch on almost all hits. I play with no crowd noise on a nice sound system, this year's bat audio was the first things I noticed since Beta and something I've been wanting for a long time. The old hollow sound was getting stale - this year they NAILED it. But something changed this last patch.
A good/good most certainly had a 'new' crack of the bat sound. Even weak hits had them. It's why it stood out to me so much post patch...
They were a lot more prevalent pre-patch. Are you saying you prefer the old, hollow sound instead?
