Howard Johnson 30/30 card, my favorite baseball player of all time and a great guy.
Fun fact I do Bp where he does baseball lessons
That's pretty cool. Randy Jones did the same in SD. Have you ever had a lesson from HoJo?
No but I see him often. I’m 12 btw. A couple of years ago I got to meet Ben zobrist, and mike freeman there. It was at a seminar.
Very cool young man. I've seen your posts in here. You know your baseball. Keep.at it.

How do you like Parker so far? I've got Davis on my NL central bench and may want a lefty instead. Plus I actually liked the 91 version when it came out.
-
To me, Al Kaline is an interesting one, because I never see or hear about him in threads or other people's lineups.
Outfield is obviously quite crowded and he's certainly not everyone's first choice in RF. But his near perfect diamond defense and arm are a huge plus, his contact and power against LHP and power against RHP are all 110+and while he's no speed demon, he's not a liability on the base paths at 60+ speed.
He's my starting RF for my NL Central team and has been a doubles machine, especially to right/center.
-
I'll name a player or two every day (or few days if there's actually a good discussion going on) and you rate them or compare them however you see fit.
Day 1: Al Kaline - great or not great?
Day 2: Best 99 Brewers Starter : Brandon Woodruff (Finest), Corbin Burnes (Finest), Freddy Peralta (ASG)
Day 3: Who is the better center fielder? Griffey, Mays, Mantle or Trout? Or someone else?
Day 4: Top 3 Catchers
Day 5: assuming you have every card, who would you rank as the best lefties in the pen. Obviously Wagner, Miller and Chapmen are up there, who else?
Day 6- Who are you favorite 3 bosses and why? Also, if you have a bottom 3, feel free to share. Obviously the first few innings had lower OVR ratings but at that point in the game cycle, some of them were really popular like Valenzuela and Lofton.

One of the many guys who I absolutely rake with in moments/conquest....but just never would consider putting in my lineup. Sorry Al
Yeah, he wouldn't make my squad if I was only running 1 or 2 lineups for sure, or playing online, But for TA5 I had 6 lineups (1 for each division), so I put him in right and he mashed in conquest like you said. Not sure how that would translate against real people haha.
Exactly, and unfortunately he doesnt bring anything spectacular to the table besides defense....but defense only does so much with 60 speed.
I thought of him because he made 2 amazing catches and when I looked at his attributes I was Impressed. But when you've got Griffey, Mantle, Mookie, Mays, Hank, Yelich, Eric Davis, O'Neil, Gwynn, Rickey, Acuna, Marte, Marte and so many others with speed, it makes it hard.
-
Yep, definitely Bagwell. Lots of people guessing Altuve, didn't read the milestone legend line. To me this is one of the better player programs, especially since he has the Thief quirk meaning it could be a 30/30 card and he'd have decent or even good speed.
-
Don't play only your God squad. There are enough great players for a dozen or more different God squads. He is in one of my 6 lineups at 2nd. Create a new new roster and he can be your team captain.
-
New topic: which Brewers Ace is your favorite and why? Woodruff, Burnes or Peralta?
So far, I'm liking Woodruff Finest a lot. Quick windup and delivery, 117 H/9, great velocity and 3 active quirks assuming I finally understand what active quirks are hahaha.
Peralta was a staple for a while with another whip crack delivery and high H/9 and K/9 attributes. I have yet to debut Burnes but I'm hoping he leads the pack.
You?

I believe there are more to add. We will get one tomorrow for the Astros with the Bagwell program and probably a few in the next event and inning as well.

@foresticek_psn said in So, what are you working on these days?:
I'm working on Trea Turner mostly, I'm 10 wins away. I'm also trying to finish BR program for the first time ever this year, currently at 50 points. Do we know, when this BR program ends?
I believe it ends in 3 weeks.
-
Haven't tried him yet, but I built a new team with all my new 99s like Trout, Pujols, Bryce and Trea Finest and others and am going to use then to grind the maps I still have from TA5.
-
I also have every card......except for Alomar whom I will never be able to get. My therapist says I will be OK missing one player but my head is spinning and all is ee is red and yellow.
Breathe......breathe....
I saved all three TA5 maps until I finish the program which I should have completed in a day or 2. I'm gonna use my new 99 God Squad of Trout, Griffey, Trea, Pujols, Bryce etc. to grind them all. I might even toss Bagwell in as a bench bat.
Which five pitchers should I use?

For those who want to know the moments:
- Hit a HR (1 PA)
- Get 1 Hit (1 Game)
- Hit a HR (1 PA)
- Tally 8 TBs (1 Game)
- Hit a HR (1 Game)
- Tally 4 TBs (1 Game)
So what you're saying is
- Directional Hitting
- Doesn't matter
- Directional Hitting
- Directional Hitting
- Directional Hitting
- Directional Hitting
What are the Online Missions
Pretty lazy and lame to use Directional DirtyShawn
Don't judge the dark side of directional. Yes, it's lazy, yes it's akin to bumper bowling or riding a bike with training wheels......but, and I can't stress this enough....I hate the words Try Again!

I'm just glad we got Twitch this year, even though his highest card is only a 94.
(Hint hint SDS, if there's a new batch of RIB cards on the way).
Ok I'll bite....who is Twitch? I'm only familiar with the app.
Joe Nathan. He had a nervous tick where he would twitch his head to the side
Oh hahahahaha, nice. Yeah ok I remember now. I love him in my AL Central BP.

There is no true answer to give outside of construct it with a combination of the top 99 guys you enjoy using but the lay well with at same time. There are some top “end game” cards that just don’t work for people while others are incredible with them
You're right of course, I guess I'm looking for suggestions of the new cards because I haven't really used any of them yet. The only Program Finest I've used is Tatis because I wanted to make TA5 last so I didn't use any of the players with missions. I also haven't used Trout, Pujols, McCovey, Trea Turner Finest, Bryce Finest, Foxx, any of the 20 Finest cards from set 1 and 2, Ripken, Machado, Parker or pretty much any card that was released within the last 6 weeks or so (except for Griffey).
I put together 6 rosters, 1 for each division and have used them for all of TA5. Now I'd like to start a new roster comprised of only players released in the last 6 week or so.
So, if you have any players who you think will absolutely mash, or especially pitchers you enjoy, I'd love to hear suggestions.
Mainly, it's really slow at work and I need my baseball fix.
So far.....I'm adding Kyle Tucker hahaha. Thanks @Mike__Honcho_361

@write2shawn_MLBTS weird question, but how many wins are you up to now with lefty grove? you beat me with him a couple weeks ago in the event to get to like 67-5 or something like that with him lol, impressive
What’s up brotha… yeah, I remember playing you!
I pitched Lefty like a million times in this event and he’s nasty! Thanks… so cool to see someone here who you played.Wait, you are 67-5 with Lefty, online? That leads me to believe you're pretty good?
Haha… not really, but I’m an Events monster. I come alive for 3-inning games.
No offense, but I hope our paths don't cross on here hahaha, you'd carve me up with Lefty.

If you don't have Trevor Story somewhere on that roster, you're doing it wrong.
Which Trevor Story...HRD or Awards?
I'll admit, I've never really given either a chance, but the point of this thread was to take advice on who to add from the last 6 weeks... buuuuut, since I've never really tried either Story card, I'll toss him in the ring.
So far I have:
Kyle Tucker- Finest
Ketel Marte- Finest
Willie McCovey- prime
Trevor Story- HRD or Awards. -
Mike Schmidt murders the ball for me. Same with Mays but I do agree with you guys on Bench and so far Bagwell.

I hit good with Mays and Schmidt also but the pitch must be away for me. Whenever you play online with these guys, you see nothing but high inside heat because it is well known its hard to turn with these guys. If you have a secret on how you hit so well with these guys, do you mind sharing?
My secret is that I don't use them online hahaha. No, you're totally right. Offline, is a much different animal and I have no trouble with the old timers closed stances. But online I'm sure I'd be stumped .
