I finally woke up in the middle of the night to check the game out.
Mini Seasons looks cool. Great addition.
Otherwise, we have an innings program and a few repeat conquests. Team Affinity is truly gone. Not changed, gone. They made the innings program more interactive but this game is missing a huge chuck of offline content.
I do think Online content looks more inviting to the offline player, but wow...it's just so disappointing.
Before you all jump on here and argue which is welcome of course, my main beef is not that you can't get all the cards. I'm sure in time we will be able to get all of them. But they reduced the grindable content by a vast margin. Instead of 6 huge rewards paths for Team Affinity, 1 huge innings reward path + the daily moments reward path(again, not focused on the rewards part, but the path...the grindable content) and reduced it all to 1 that's shorter than the innings program. Plus, there doesn't look to be weekly moments and there's no section for monthly programs, maybe those will be in other programs?
I'm hoping in the coming weeks we get "other programs" to supplement what's missing, but for now....this is basically a much smaller version of last year's game.
Most of you know, I'm really not a negative poster. I'm still hoping I'm proven wrong. If Mini Seasons turns out to be a ton of fun and time consuming, I'd happily walk back these comments. It also remains to be seen what featured programs are on the horizon.
Anyway, I know nobody asked...I'm hoping to jump in here in the coming days and weeks and say I'm wrong, but thus far I'm just mourning the loss of my favorite program.
And no, I don't take this all too seriously. Of course there are bigger problems in life than a lack of video game content. But I was hoping to be a hermit and grind The Show all weekend but there isn't much to do.
