On this, the last day of 21, I want to say thank you to my Bro's. These guys brought me from my infancy of playing for years on Franchise (with my own 99 created players) on the easiest level to where I am now: Diamond Dynasty, All-Star (sometimes Veteran or Legend), and Zone hitting.
This has been my first full year of DD and now I get it.
I used to think it was the craziest thing to collect virtual cards, only to have to start over again the next year. I didn't get it.
I didn't understand the market and why people would spend real money to buy stubs, or why they would spend stubs on virtual cards...for Pete's sake...those things are used for my budget to sign my players so they don't get traded away. I didn't get it.
I didn't understand why anyone would play RTTS when you could just create a monster player (or a whole team of them) and kill the CPU each and every time. It took my sons and DD to get me to understand that.
It puzzled me why guys would form leagues and play online. I really didn't get it (I still don't like to play online except for friendlies).
These guys taught me the wisdom of a wired connection and using a monitor (instead of my 65" TV with the video and audio going through my decade-old stereo).
I thought I knew this game pretty well when I really didn't know it at all.
I may be older than all but one of them, but these guys are like the big brothers I never had. These guys are my Bro's. To each and every one of you: (in no particular order) Jason, Kevin, Fred, Joe, Chris, Marcus, Vinny, Vin, Shawn, Jeff, Sonny, Wyatt, Arvin, Dave, and Mike. Thank you!
Sometimes a game is not about a game at all...
I know this is corny, but I really appreciate you guys!!!!!

Just curious because I've been retired since 2016 and play the show quite a bit. I know of a couple "old guys" that play and was wondering how many are really out there.
With all the nightmare posts flying around about linking XBoxes and Switches to Playstations, I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to do it. Well, I'm here to tell you that it links just fine and there are no problems. I have my current progression on both my PS5 and my Switch. In case anyone needs to know, here is what I did:
The Switch then generated a code for me to enter into my The Show account.
It all works just as they said it would. Also, the error I was getting when logging into my Nintendo account (before tonight) on theshow.com now redirects me to the screen showing my accounts and which ones are linked.
Bunting is part of the game. If you don't want someone doing it against the shift, then don't shift.
I’m not only a dad but I just became a grandfather. I have twin boys and we loved playing together before they left home to be adults.
I’m not the quickest and sometimes I throw to the wrong base or go after the ball with the wrong player (remembering afterwards to that I should have pressed L2 to switch players) but I love playing the game. I spend my time in franchise mode developing my team year to year.
Talk about an embarrassing confession...🥴

I went the other way. I think it's best to take at least 1 SP or two relievers per pack. The rest of the picks should be fielders. The fielders take longer so you want to have as much of a full squad as possible so you can work on as many as possible (some will have to be in secondary positions). You can get one SP done in a single CPU game or two relievers done in two CPU games (if you start them alternately), so you really chew through the pitchers while working on the fielders.
You do need to be strategic in how you pick your cards if you want to get them done quicker than not. I am left with two 1B who don't have secondary positions (Cepeda and Abreu). I have four SP left too (I didn't take a SP from each pack, so I didn't finish them as quickly as I should have).
However you do it, there are some great cards in these packs. I really enjoyed playing most of them.
@theninjaraven_psn said in You are the reason for prices failing.:
If everyone would be more intelligent we could get the prices of Judge and Betts to reflect what they truly should. Judge should easily be over 200K but you kids are killing that cause of trying to sell low ...the same with Betts and others...they are under priced. Betts should easily be 40K.
Sounds like someone is trying to get their stubs back by trying to pump the price of a few players...
Why give him a secondary SP or RP position if you can't put him in the rotation?
How about it? I'd be willing to show my ID to get a senior discount on MLBTS!
C'mon...you can do it...I know you can
Signed,
Sitting here goofing around on MLBTS21 waiting for the '22 announcement.
I am 60 and have been playing the show for a long time. Until the end of '19, I only played Franchise in beginner mode with directional hitting. Then I met a group of guys who pulled me out of the dungeon and got me on the road to trying to do better. To make a long story short, I am now in my second full year of DD and play mostly all-star with zone hitting, but, it is difficult because all of my DIP joints are fusing, so I have to push past that to hit. Sometimes, I go back to directional just to give myself a break. I don't play online because, well, frankly, I am not a good hitter, even though I am better than I used to be.
The moral of this rambling is to find your comfort zone. Use the methods that are most comfortable to you, regardless of what others think. You don't have to play the way they do; you should play the way that you enjoy (while occasionally trying something harder to see if you're able). You don't have to play online to enjoy DD. Also, if you are able to find a friend or two to help you learn the ropes, it helps. The guys I fell in with taught me everything, like conquest maps, flipping cards, how to set up my console so there isn't as much lag, and pushed me to try harder modes.
Keep at it. Find your comfort zone and occasionally go outside of it. You'll surprise yourself. Thank you for your service!
I started getting cut off a couple of weeks ago on my PS5. I kept getting the LAN cable disconnected/connected message. I went to wireless and I still got disconnected but not as frequently. After doing some searches online, I booted my PS5 into safe mode, did an update, went back to wired, and set my PS5 to a static IP address in my router. It hasn’t happened since.
I assigned my PS5 a static IP address in my router and that helped me immensely. I thought it was just a PS problem but maybe not if you're having the same issue.
If your issue is different, I hope someone has some ideas for you because it is annoying for sure.

I feel like they tried to make it harder but they didn't you still dominate you just have less fun playing. For example rookie is unplayable the easiest levels to play against is vet or all-star, because the pitchers cant hit the strike zone and then magically dot something. I know the answer it to wait on your pitch and draw more walks and "get good" but all this really does is drag out the game more. It make playing less fun when you know it's going to take 3 times as long as it used to. I feel like usually I make it to fall before the game feels stale and I want to take a break but it's coming way earlier this year. On rookie, CPU pitchers are alot more wild plus sometimes perfect perfect hits are outs. I think SDS balanced hitting alot better this year.

A perfect/perfect hit is not THE perfect hit. Of course perfect hits will be outs. Sometimes it's a perfect grounder, sometimes a perfect liner, sometimes a perfect fly. If a defender is there, they will get the ball. Even a perfect/perfect fly ball is not a home run. Just because it is hit perfectly doesn't mean there is enough umph behind the ball to get it out. All perfect/perfect means is that it is timed perfectly and the ball was hit squarely. I think SDS needs to replace the verbiage on perfect/perfects because a lot of people misunderstand what that feedback means.
I only play offline and I haven’t found it annoying. I am more successful than not at the plate this year when I get to a 3-2 count. The only thing that really bothers me are the consistent gold glove plays by the CPU players.
First off, you want to link your Switch account to your PS4 account. It does matter.

All for 2k xp? Lol
It was a lot more than that when you add the XP from the game, the PXP for the players, and the fun of trying to get 10 steals in one game.
It's not always about the XP.
It seems to be back now.
I chose the Blue Jays because of their catcher's ARM attribute
I have a spreadsheet that I wrote that sorts my inventory by attribute and position using the database for the attributes (plus the PXP level they are at) so it's pretty easy for me to see who has what attributes so I can use them for whatever I'm trying to accomplish.
Right now I'm working on the HRs and I have Trout, Gibson, Devers, Dawson, Murray, Piazza, Story, Sandberg, and Ohtani (to finish out the Ks and help with the HRs). There are so many good cards to use for HRs that it's hard to choose, so I went with the cards I hit best with.
So, I put together a team just to get the 10 stolen bases out of the way: These are the fastest cards I had at each position.
C - 79 J.T. Realmuto 1B - 87 Minnie Minoso 2B - 70 Jorge Mateo 3B - 77 Bobby Witt Jr. (Towards the end of the game, I slid 87 Turner to 3B, 70 Mateo to SS, and 94 Joe Morgan to 2B) SS - 87 Trea Turner LF - 88 Rickey Henderson CF - 90 Byron Buxton RF - 75 Adam Engel
Bench 94 Joe Morgan 72 Tim Locastro 95 Kahlil Watson (the only fast players I had on the bench)
I had 94 Ohtani as my starter for the K's and I got him to P5 during the game. He hit a couple of HRs too, so that helped with that category).
I played the Blue Jays. I made sure to only get singles (unless an HR was hit, of course) so I could steal both 2nd and 3rd.
What team did you use to get the 10 SBs?

Has to be on SDS's end. PS app works. PS status says it's up with no issues. Maybe all the server errors we didn't experience at the beginning of the year finally caught up to us. Or someone at SDS tripped over a plug.

It's definitely SDS. I can't log into account.theshow.com with my PSN, MLBTS, or Nintendo accounts. I can log into my console and the PlayStation Network just fine.
