Ok, I got past Ohtani and only used three outs. Crazy. Wish me luck for the remainder.

I know this forum is saturated with Showdown hate, but I will add to it a little bit.
Just failed the AL West showdown for the 6th time. Only advanced past Hendricks once. 6000 stubs down the dunny (not including the rewards of course). I think it says more about me as a player than the game itself, but GD I am sick of flying out all the time.
Still, I'm a sucker. Will try once more and then back to MTO for me to get Gallo. -
Is there a way to set up a practice scenario for home run robberies?
You play enough, you get a few chances but I haven't yet been successful. To be honest, a few times I hit the wrong button and took a dive, looking like a real fool. -
Strike Zone 3, but trying to get used to SZ 2

There is one. Go to Games in the bar menu above and you'll see it, top LEFT with MLB 20
-
I'm a relative newbie - I came into the game when 19 was free last year, loved it, so got 20 on the pre-purchase release date. I struggled last year understanding all aspects of The Show, but mostly just did RTTS and MTO, with a bit of Conquest and the occasional online game. I've since gotten a much better handle on it, but still a lot of it confuses me. For example, I don't really understand what is needed to get Mantle (other than knowing it is a long hard road).
There are obviously heaps of YouTube videos, however I find they all assume a lot of pre-knowledge about how the game works.
Can anyone recommend a The Show 101 video? I guess focusing on DD. -
Oh ha, that is funny and apt!
-
yea, what phrase? I aint clicking on some random [censored] youtube links ... for no doubt minimal pay off

Good tips, but I have been hitting the Exchange pretty hard for those sweet sweet 10 points.
No idea if this is smart or stupid, but I look for players with a high Points per Stubs ratio - and buy them on market a few times each and exchange right away to work up to those 50,000 points. Yeah, it costs Stubs so only do it if you have a few to burn through. -
I guess I just made meter sound as easy as pulse. I didn't mean that, it ain't. I'm just as bad at meter as I am at analog.
-
Do people view pulse pitching with the same disdain as many have for directional hitting? I just cannot yet get the hang of analog pitching, so mostly use pulse. I am improving, but I just can't help but pull left on the way up.
Are all these complaints about pitching solely about Analog? Or is there a of meter and pulse users too?
[as with every one of my posts, I clarify that I am fairly new to The Show] -
Ha, credit card company! Yeah, let us know how that works out.
-
I think what this forums needs is even more "fix this" posts. 100 a day just isn't enough.
-
Had a win on the horses, so thinking about buying a lot of Stubbs. Like 150k maybe. Probably less.
Fairly new to the game. What's the best way to spend them, generally speaking? Buying packs I guess? Which ones? I realise these are noobie questions, but I am fairly new to The Show. -
I;m still struggling, but I am fairly new to the show (October freebie last year), so I reckon it takes a long time to get used to it all.
I'm sure its been asked 100s of times before, but what type of hitting are people here using?
Zone exclusively? -
Even with PCI in or very close to centre .... flyout. It's driving me nuts.
I just want to whinge! I feel better after a whinge. -
I've seen no one else complain about, so it is just me?
I think 90% of my outs are flyouts. Not even the annoying diving catches - but straight to the man. I've given up on zone hitting and am trying directional now, but getting the same results -
I just lost a 12 inning game against the Cardinals ... on Veteran mode! Unbelievable. 1-1 after the first, and then it stayed that way until an error allowed a run in for them in the 12th.
What's your longest (and perhaps most heartbreaking) "3 inning" conquest game? -

Oh man yeah, when I switched to a monitor from my TV it was a game changer. I was early on everything which took some adjusting, but I got better. Still an average player at this game, but loving it. Rubbish internet connections means I don't bother with online versus games much though.
I thought the whole point of a monitor was to reduce lag (or whatever) that occurs during online/versus/H2H games. What's the point of purchasing a monitor to play against the CPU exactly? Am I missing something?
I already had a monitor in the house, not a specific gaming one, but it does the trick. Could be a placebo effect, but I do think it helps me CPU play and the odd online game I do. Hoping for a better internet connection soon.
