I don't normally play hof difficulty, or hth, but I got mine in 6 games. 6 in 3 games vs CPU, against the Orioles. Just get your best hitters and be patient. I also use directional, because I can't react well enough with zone, or whatever it's called.
I usually play my CPU games against the Pirates or the A’s. There’s someone on the O’s ( can’t remember who) who’d steal on me a lot.
The Marcus Simeon Monthly card has been burning for me
I'm stuck at 77 points. I'm working on getting the Milestone and low power home runs, but the HOF home runs are basically unreachable for me. I don't recall ever hitting one. I'm not a big online player and I haven't have much success in events.
Since there's no exchanges option, how can you advance without HOF homers? I'm hoping some other options will be added.
I'm pretty much on hold in advancing on the Moonshot event. Are the missions the only way? Does XP have anything to do with advancing? Outside of events, which I don't really do, is there anything else I can do?
After seeing the second Griffey 99, I think SDS could do anything at this point. It'll be fun to see what besides the postseason cards pop up as we get into November.
@BANGyourSOUL_XBL said in Madison Bumgarner just a 97 Postseason?:
He will get a 99.
This year? I don't think that'll happen now. (Though we got the second 99 Griffey Jr.)
@joejoejr_MLBTS said in Not Getting Topps Now XP Points for September POTM Program:
Anybody else having issues with not getting topps now xp to do the September potm program? I've had 2 or 3 games where is didn't get any so I've not finished that parts of the program. I just did like 3 innings with Joe Ryan and quit to see if the xp took and it didn't. I did get enough at bats to have everything count. The stats for the Aaron Judge program took, but not the XP for the Topps Now XP.
Even though they're both grinded under the Monthly Awards banner, the Topps Now and Monthlies are different and grind differently. If I had to make a suggestion to SDS, it would be to make that difference a little clearer. I know it was something that I missed originally. Now I spend time doing lists of each set of cards so I make the lineups that'll grind the way I want them to.

I didn't watch the game but as soon as I heard what Showalter did I chalked it up to mind games. The type of stuff Billy Martin would have done.
Yup, and it totally backfired on him and I love it!
Agreed. I'm no Padres fan but that type of stuff only makes the manager look bad. And Showalter did.
An even more juiced Juan Soto.
I'm down to my last two Fall bosses after picking the Babe, Junior and Foxx. I will definitely take Guererro. For the last one, I'm going between Sale and Eckersley. I have different reasons for wanting each one. I'm a Red Sox fan, but I saw Eck pitch several times in Oakland and he was devastating (even if I wasn't always rooting for him). I'm really torn between the two. I've seen comments here that people have had issues with Eck 99. Would you take Eck or Sale?
Just a guess, but I suspect we may see more of that as the playoffs continue. Since they’re super charging players right away after games, they probably have to take things down until they do. Besides, you should be watching the playoffs.
I got Kerry Wood. It was the Edwin Diaz moment that did it. It turned out to be a lot easier than I figured it would be. I don’t remember if I had tried that before or not. I think I tried it once. But anyway, I did it.

But the biggest frustration was today with Albert Pujols. I got through the first part (which I've been able to do several times).
Using the dashboard method got me the Griffey and Pujols moments (with Ohtani halfway done).
I’m not even going to bother trying any others.
Accept your (and my) lot in life and be happy there’s a realistic path to get these cards at all, even if it’s going to take till January.
Dashboard method?

First, I love this game. You'll never catch me saying I won't be back next year. God willing (and the creek don't rise, as the late great Johnny Cash used to say) I will.
But the extreme program has been endlessly frustrating. Over the top. I realize it's supposed to be that way. I get at times you're playing in All-Star and HOF modes in it. As someone who would never be competing in the summer or fall contests, I get that.
But a couple of things have really been a little too much. I have yet to get Kerry Wood. I'm 3 points away. All my advances in this program have been XP. But I've tried a few of the moments. The Gerritt Cole I have gotten two homeruns a couple of times but no more. One time I started with a base hit and then got two home runs. I expected it to continue (because the game didn't say specfically the HRs had to be the first three batters, just that they started the game with them) and then the moment stopped. Also, I've come close with Carlos Delgado (my best finish was one base away).
But the biggest frustration was today with Albert Pujols. I got through the first part (which I've been able to do several times). In the second AB on the second part I hit a ball that looked very good. I mean REALLY good. The commentary said all the right words and it looked like a home run as it started to land. Nope. It was a ball caught at the wall.
That's one of the frustrating things about this program. Maybe it's my bad luck, but to hit a ball that looks and pretty much feels like a home run and then have it not be at the last second is terribly frustrating and unfair.
I don't expect to get any sympathy here and honestly, I don't want any. What I would like is for the program to play a little more fairly. If it's not going to be a home run, don't lead me on so much.
One constructive (I think) suggestion for SDS for next year: Bring the extreme program on a little earlier than this year. Is it necessary to wait until the sun begins to set on the game to bring it in?
As I said I love this game. I don't play a lot of online and maybe I should do that a little more. Maybe that would make the extreme program a little more palatable. But it just seems like the idea is to not win it rather than to make it challenging. Yeah, yeah, I know ... stop your whining....
Have you done the Conquest? That right there will get you Kerry and then just use him endlessly until you get him p5.
I am not great at this game. I still play mostly on rookie and veteran against CPU and hardly ever online and I just got Cano last night. There are 5 moments that are doable. I never completed the one you're talking about. The multi game Griffey moment can be dashboarded so you don't lose progress. The Kerry Wood 20ks is totally manageable and there are a few others that uou can do. And honestly, unless you want to collect every card, you can finish once you hit Chapman. Cano and Donaldson are amazing from what I hear. But not worth the headache if you don't care.
I'll give the conquest another shot.
@pinola7223_PSN said in My thoughts on extreme ...:
You can do this. I am not good at the game. I normally just play the computer on rookie to chill. I finished the extreme program about a week ago. I did all of the missions but two and made it through the conquest. The rest of the points I just racked up playing the game. Getting to Wood and getting him to P5 was huge. You got this though.
I've started the conquest but missed the conquering the strongholds on each turn. I guess I'll start that over again.
Add: My batting order for Gerrit Cole is Steve Finley (who hits home runs a lot ... maybe it happens with the leadoff on that moment), then Babe Ruth and currently Ortiz. When I get Junior, I'll sub him for someone.
@AMMO3105_PSN said in Postseason program?:
Anything short of exactly how they released the program in the past 2-3 game playing seasons will be a huge letdown for me personally as in each of the last few seasons, some great WC, DS, etc. cards were released and those of you that had teams in the playoffs, got some nice cards to play with towards the end of the season! Shoot, I would probably still be using A. RILEY and Rosario’s 2021 post-season cards if I had them in 2022!
Last year's postseason was fantastic (partly because my Giants were in it). No such luck this year, but even so, it should be good. Will they have a 99 1/2 card for Juan Soto?
The way I understand it Bumgarner was considered a henchman in the game so that's why the 97. Still, considering what he did for the Giants with one of the best postseason performances in baseball history, I disagree that's how it should have been. Maybe a Finest (though they have a ton of Finest cards now).

One heck of a game, I walked away for a minute and check on my kid in the bathtub, only to miss the HR. My wife just happen to be watching and not paying attention, only to say " how is it in the 15th inning with no runs", I just shook my head and say, it figures...
I also walked out of the room to get something and came back and it was over. I had watched several innings and was waiting to see the end. Oh well...
