The odds of this occurring naturally are roughly 1 in 524,288, so I’m pretty sure he’s home hunting. I won anyways, guy was awful. Threw the sinker 60% of the time and the cutter another 30% no matter the pitcher and swung at everything. The game was at Shippett and on All Star difficulty so i was still a little nervous because anything could happen. Should I report or just take the win and move on? Hate how exploits and cheating are still a thing this late in the game cycle.

Home field advantage doesn’t mean much in this game, but backing out of games with lag is why I end up home team a lot. Less latency with home games, if it takes a second or more to toggle between pitchers on the lineup screen, you can be sure I’m out.

Sure, you tell yourself that. You're a minority of one.

The last at bat is just as important in a baseball video game as it is in real baseball. You know the score, you know what needs to be done to win the game and of course you have the option to walk it off -- something the visiting team never enjoys.

In terms of the outfield, it depends upon the stadium, but there are venues where if you play the outfielder you have an advantage if you are familiar with how the ball will behave.

The latency issue is entirely on SDS to update their code to prevent this happening. I don't care if the game's video resolution has to be dropped to 1990's levels, there is no excuse for an online game to lag and if SDS cannot fix that problem then they should just remove all their online game modes until they can fix it.

Not sure if that’s possible, but I would support it.

Home hunting is lame. I wouldn’t mind it as much if people chose different stadiums. I play as the visitor at Coors so much it makes me sick.

And before the Coors gang comes after me, I get the argument for “rewarded swings.” I’m just saying, the same old visuals is boring to me. I don’t mind playing as the road team, but if I could back out after I see it’s Coors that would be awesome.

Considering everyone usually using coors field or some other high elevation field and that every online game doesn’t even go 9 innings most of the time. Home field advantage doesn’t matter as much as you want it to. This is a video game not real life.

Your theory on home hunting is you have less lag as the home team. Meaning your opponent, as the road team, is going to have more lag. This gives the home team a major real life competitive advantage. Besides, if home hunting doesn’t provide “that big of an advantage” than why even do it in the first place?

IIt is a reportable offense as it allows a user to exploit a connection issue to gain an advantage (stadium, last at bats, utilizing cards with home field quirks, less latency than opponents, among others), violating the terms of service. It is absolutely wrong, but considering you’ve played your last 8 online games at home, I get why you’ve been so defensive

Says the "home hunter?"

Frankly, this is the first time I've even heard this term, "home hunter," but the whole point of competition is a fair setup. I never knew there was a reliable method to ensure one more or less always get home games. The home field advantage in baseball is among the most significant in sports. These realities translate even to video games.

Last AB's is huge. Translates.

Familiarity with the outfield. Translates.

So, yes, employing a method to deny yourself road games is wrong. And before you think I'm upset about being "victimized" about this, I don't even play online games. I'm just an objective and neutral observer. I think you're the one suffering from a bias.
