<![CDATA[What is the inspiration behind your Username?]]>So, in order to cheer myself up from all the depressing posts out here, how about this? Why did you create the Username you did?

I think @dolenz_psn 's name is a callback to Micky Dolenz from the Monkees (for those of you under the age of 40, they were a "TV" band in the late 60's). Mine? Simple. Again, for those of you under 40 (50?), Mario Mendoza was one of the worst hitting players of all time. Chris Berman popularized the phrase on Sports Center, and it referred to a player hitting under .200. When I'm playing online, I want to lull my opponent into thinking "oh, this guy must be hitting under .200." Joke's on them. I'm well into the .200's.

@drbear100_psn - you're a vet that specializes in Grizzly Bear wounds.
@samguenther1987_psn - your name is... Sam.
@eatyum_psn - a reference to Homer Simpson.

Primarily it came from when I was in 7th grade. Our washing machine decided one day. The ONLY pair of pants I had clean at the time were UN-blue camo pants. Well...12 year olds can be relentless, and they instantly started saying things like "Yes sir Sarge sir!" Or in gym that day they'd yell out "Great shot, Sarge!". Well, it stuck and became sort of a nickname. The second part is from my favourite video game on the N64- Army Men, Sarge was my favourite character...so I kinda made it my online persona. And here we are!

Sorry to take this thread in a different direction...

When my stepson was 5, he was testing boundaries. I sent him to his room for talking back to his mother, and he looked me dead in the eye and said "you're not the boss of me". I laughed and said "I kind of am the boss of you". He cried and reluctantly went to his room.

He got married last year and had me officiate. We've come a long way 😁

Yes! My 3 were 3,4, and 6 at the time. Early to mid 20s now. But I still remember the day they started calling me Dad. It's not always been easy and they've called me plenty of other things, I'm sure. But, at the end of the day, they always come back to 'Dad'. Greatest feeling ever!
