How many times does this kind of thing happen before GMs stop giving relief pitchers big contracts? About a hundred (probably more) RPs are DFA'd every year. Just keep signing them and find a couple that work. DFA the others. Save yourself millions.

He brings him in near the end to face the best hitters, no matter if it's the 8th or 9th. You would rather have the best pitcher face the top 3 than a Hoffman.

And, to my point, the better RPs on the Jay's staff are all making the league min.. There's no reason to blow cash on RPs. Just keep grabbing free ones, or kids from the minors until you find some that work.
