Bases loaded and two out. I chose 'get on base' as the situational goal.

I hit a single up the middle. The runner from third scores. As I'm standing on first high-fiving the base coach, the runner from second tries to score and gets tagged out.

I failed the goal.

AFAIK, as long as I reach the base before the final out is made, that counts as a base hit.

So, is that not getting on base or is it just a normal game glitch?

Therefore, since in your situation the run was tallied, it means that you satisfied the force out and a hit should be awarded as well as an RBI. The defining change of status is when the umpires signal the end of the play. If a runner is thrown out on a post-play effort to advance a base then it does not change the situation (hit and RBI).

The game code screwed up, and its another example of how SDS's game code fails to properly reflect the MLB rulebook.

It would be scored as a base hit in the scorebook without reaching base due to the inning ending on that same play… hit, yes…think about a walk-off, players are always granted a single, no more… the play/inning ends with the scoring running in that case

No, wrong rule interpretation. The hitter did reach base. The reason a walk off "double" can be credited by the scorer as a single is that the run scoring ends the game, but the run cannot score until all force outs that would represent the final out are satisfied. Reaching first base by the hitter would satisfy the force outs requirement, just as did the situation in the OP's scenario.

A hit can NEVER be recorded unless that hitter is able to reach first prior to being called out on a force play.

Another wrinkle in this rule is when a hitter reaches first, but then the umpire rules he rounded to second and was then tagged for the final out to end the inning. The run already scored prior to the hitter being tagged out and therefore since that out was not a force out, if the run scores prior to the tag out, then a hit is awarded as is an RBI.

I was playing as a SP. It was two out in the 8th inning of a scoreless game. The batter hit a dribbler towards the second baseman that pulled the 1B away to field. I made my way towards the bag to cover. Just as I was about to get to first, the first baseman threw the ball behind me, making me move away from the bag to catch it, allowing the runner to reach the bag.

Errors happen. However, somehow this was scored a single. I was immediately pulled from the game. The RP gave up the run. I was tagged with an earned run and the loss.

How exactly is the fielder making a bad throw a single? I would have easily made the play had the throw been on target. I would have been saddled with the loss, but not hit with an earned run.

No. In your above description you should have been credited with a single and out while advancing.
In your main post you should have been credited with an RBI single , the only thing that needs to happen for a hit or reach base safely is for the batter to make it to first and each runner that has to advance to make it to the next base with no out recorded or no errors, anything after 1 base is extra, the game often gets the official scoring on this correct when 1 base is the end of the play, but will get it wrong alot if runners are out at the 2nd base, I have failed moments that was get a hit and a runner on first, ground ball into right field I make it to first but the runner goes for third and gets thrown out at third, most of the time I get a hit but a lot of the time it messes it up and I have to redo it.

I've had that exact thing happen to me as well.

You can get on base several ways without getting a hit, for instance had you chose hit a single you would have gotten credit for getting the hit. Another example, you select get a hit and are intentionally walked you don’t get credit for the challenge, yet if you select get on base and are walked you get credit. It is what makes it a challenge and yes, sometimes BS happens but it also does in real life as well
