This is why this game needs a "Team Builder Mode" where you get credit/rewards for building and playing themed teams. I love the "card collecting" aspect of this game - other people dont care and immediately sell any card they dont need. Im probably going to try out a lot of these cards for fun - but it would be nicer if all these cards had practical use. Otherwise, its just a whole bunch more rewards with no practical way to use them.

Which is also weird cause that's the kinda thing they go for in topps now, not a big deal though he only pitched a third of an inning in game 1 and an inning in game 2 so not very special performance wise just a historical thing

It's all a money grab. Every collection is the same thing. Only get a few cards by playing and everything else ridiculous pack luck (better chance of walking out the door getting struck by lightning on a sunny day) or buy the players.

Best cards every Friday is a chase pack which seems like .00001% chance to pull unless you're a streamer/partner.

No, but they hadnt done weekly chase packs until last year either...

April 25 Program - 4 Spotlight and 2 Topps Now
April 26 Program - 6 Spotlight and 2 Topps Now

April 25 Pack - 5 Spotlight and 4 Topps Now
April 26 Pack - 10 Spotlight

So 5 more Spotlight Cards and 4 less Topps Now this year

I could be wrong but I believe the retro lightning collection said 11 cards prior to today’s update so I’m guessing the pack will make it easier to get the retro lightning.

Unless it’s tiered and there’s collections inside of it - IE 11 cards will get you the first guy. Similar to how they’ve done cityscapes etc.
