It will give you a warning that you’ll lose the DH but Ohtani will then be both pitcher and batter. But make sure the position you’re putting the DH at is in or near top of the lineup (or coming to bat soon) or you might have to take Ohtani out (due to fatigue) before he even has a chance to bat in a short 3 inning game. Unfortunately, if you do this any new pitcher that comes in for Ohtani will have to bat. Super awkward to do it this way, but I think I explained it right.

If another pitcher is starting, you can select Ohtani to pinch hit in the pause screen under substitutions when the DH comes to bat. This is the better option because I don’t think you can do it when Ohtani is pitching or has already pitched in the game (hence the previous longer explanation).
