The answers were fair — power creep, stamina, "barely anyone would play it." But in the comments I admitted my consolation was printing the schedule online and playing the games Vs. CPU manually. So I went ahead and built a proper tool for it. I just wanted to address what I see as a gap that isn't implemented by SDS.

Live here: https://theo20185.github.io/MLBTheShow26SeasonCompanion/

It's a browser app that pairs with Diamond Dynasty. Pick a team to replace, name your DD squad and set its OVR, and the app serves you the actual 2026 MLB schedule one game at a time — opponent, home/away, ballpark to pick in The Show, in-sim date. You play the game in DD Vs. CPU, come back, tap W or L. The app sims every other league game in the background so standings, division races, and wild-card spots stay accurate the whole way. Postseason bracket builds at the end using the real MLB tiebreaker rules.

What it uses:

Real 2026 MLB schedule (MLB Stats API).

Real 2026 The Show OVRs (computed from launch-day rosters via the public Show API).

Your save lives in your browser. Auto-saves after every game. Export to JSON if you want a backup.

What it isn't:

Not Franchise. Not March to October. No trades, injuries, roster management, or in-app stamina.

No login, no account, no ads, no paywall, no monetization at all. Not collecting anything.

Doesn't talk to The Show — you play the games in DD as normal, the app just runs the season around them.

Who it's for: Anyone who wants more single-player variety than mini-seasons, Diamond Quest, or Conquest. If 27 games of mini-seasons leaves you wanting more, this is for you.

Some quality-of-life stuff: configurable game length (3, 5, 7, or 9 innings to match your DD settings), a single "Sim this game" if life gets in the way, and bulk "Simulate to All-Star Break / Postseason / World Series" options when you want to skip ahead. Bulk sims apply a CPU bias so they aren't free wins.

AFAIK they're only 9 innings.
