Like last year he batted like 260 and that makes him get 55 million dollars a year

My assessment says 30-35 would be market rate.

I know. 25 was a down year, he put those above numbers up a few times and that's what a team looking to sign him would expect him to produce.

Low risk signing for any organization.

Few things.

  1. Defense matters.
  2. He takes walks.
  3. He was hitting at Wrigley last year. Not super hitter friendly with all the wind. (Boog’s ‘Welcome to Wrigley’ call of a homer the elements robbed him of last year was pretty great btw. I’d guess he had more than one of those.)

I mean, sure, you could argue he’s overpaid on this current deal, but he might still be in his prime when the deal expires so there won’t be any really bad money on it. Plus they generate so much value for money almost everywhere else.
