Another "The game is forcing my player to go 2-way" thread
-
Read a few threads on this happening to other people, so at least it's not just me. I created a starting pitcher for RTTS, went with Catcher as my secondary, and once I could talk to my agent, I told him twice that I wanted only to be a pitcher, and be in the rotation, full stop. I spent time working on archetypes, which gave me a lot of training sessions, and after I was finished working on pitches, I put sessions into hitting contact (NL team), and fielding so I wouldn't just stand there like an idiot when the ball was hit at my pitchers head.
Fourth season in, after Spring Training suddenly I'm seeing videos about my team taking chances on a two way player, and my training sessions which were about 2-3 a month, went to maybe 1 a month, because even if I was sim'ing to my next time on the mound, I was still playing as catcher, the 88 rated catcher I'd built up a max bond with was traded for a 61 since apparently I was starting catcher now.
Every year I get a call from my agent, who never asks me if I want him to talk to the club about going back. I'm stuck with this, and it's stalling my player's development, and making the game kind of annoying, frankly.
My only theory is that I'd been training up his fielding and contact hitting enough that I was rated better as a catcher than the starter, so the AI locked me into permanent 2-way status. Maybe it means we're victims of our own success? Sucks, anyway. -
