Yeah most definitely Gwynn. Cue the L comments like there won't be 2 other choices
Anyone who says it's an L didn't use his card in 2019 that was usable all year round that card was amazing,
If it's him it's a good card to have in there and one I'll pick up for sure
And if we were still using 19s hitting engine instead of the dumpster fire we have now I would agree with you.
People complained about as much about 19 as they did 21 only difference was 19 people complaing about line drive this line drive that so let's not try and spin some kind of revisionist history here
Last I checked, people are still complaining about way too frequent line outs. And besides, line drives were great in 19, so long as they didn’t get “squared up”. It’s not revisionist history, 19s hitting engine was far better than what we have now.
Its the same hitting engine. Perfect/perfects being added in gives people false hope that its any different. Contact hitters aren't even as bad as people think they are, we have just been trained that the top dot is the ideal spot for the PCI instead of dead center. Gold dee gordon plays the same now as he did in 19

ty cobb maybe??
Not in the game this year, it's Gwynn for sure
How do we know Cobb isn't in the game? That's a shame, he was one of my favourite cards last year

How many versions of Cobb do you own or have seen so far? That is how you know. They dont just drop new cards in the game with less than 2 weeks to go in the season.

I’ll probably take any other choice over Gwynn. There’s already plenty of outfield options that have great contact along with great power.

Puckett? Sandberg?
Can’t be Sandberg. He played for the Phillies and Cubs. The clue said he only played for one team.

Played for one team
10 plus time all star
Hall of FamerAttributes clue
Full contact , about 70 power both side, good speed and fielding
It Tony Gwynn in my eyes
Gonna be a gwynn milestone card from the year he had 56 steals and batted 320
-
Other thought is Yount, but he unbelievably was only a 3x All Star. It's incredible to think that he was top 20 MVP voting 7 times, including 2 wins, is 30th in career offensive WAR, and was only an All Star 3 times. He wasnt even an All Star in his second MVP season. Just crazy.
-
I'm glad to see a 99 Gwynn (if it is in fact him). I love his 94 card but obviously don't use it much at this stage in the game. He may not make the "one God squad to rule them all" for those that only use the same Meta players every game but for anyone who plays offline, uses theme teams or just likes to mix up their rosters, he's a great fit. What would his be? Milestone 3,000, Award Batting Title? I'd love some more prime cards.

Good call, I would have guessed Sandberg as a possibility as I always forget he played with the Phillies.
Also, that's Crazy Yount was only an All Star 3×?
I never would have guessed that, I would have assumed at least 9-10. -

Could be Puckett.
The speed is what made me say Gwynn over Kirby
Has to be Gwynn. I thought Puckett too but its 10 plus asg. Puckett had exactly 10 all star games.

Puckett wasn’t a huge base stealer and the hint has close to max, if not max, stealing. Otherwise, I could see Puckett as an option. All signs point to Gwynn.

Wish it was Ichiro

People excited for Gwynn and claiming it's not an L...
You're really going to use an outfield spot on him when there are plenty of high contact AND high power guys to use?
Not me. So yes it's an L. Sorry.
At this point in the year(especially after Mantle's drop) there aren't going to be almost any outfielders better. Griffey and Mays because they are Griffey and Mays but thats it. I've started using nothing but theme teams in RS recently and its the most fun I've had in the mode all year. Also the Padres were the last team without a 99. I'm not a padres fan by any means but Tony Gwynn is an inner circle hall of famer and probably the best contact hitter of all time. Sometimes its seems some of you aren't even baseball fans and only like the sport because of this game
-
I feel like Puckett would have more power. I'm thinking it's Gwynn. That kinda sucks though being that there's so many right fielders. Oh well. He's a great hitter.

I would make the case of Griffey, Mays and Aaron, I expect if Aaron gets a 99 card which he will it will be in everyone's lineup. End game outfield may be Mantle, Griffey, Aaron despite all 3 being centerfielders

Gwynn, Ripken, Griffey Jr

Cal Ripken?
He’d have way more power, especially against lefties. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in this program as well, tho.
Didn’t the attributes make it seem like he had good speed as well? That would remove Ripken; though I, as well as most on here, also think it is Gwynn.

I agree that hitting was much better in 19, but I think “dumpster fire” is a harsh term for this one. I still play this game; however, I have never found myself playing in or around dumpster fires.
