I’m not talking about the guys taking their time like normal. I’m talking about the guys that wait every possible second to annoy you or get you to quit.

In my opinion what you are experiencing is due to pinpoint. It is a lot easier to nibble the corners and throw junk to try to get people to chase since it’s hard to read if it will tickle the black....not to mention the umps giving the corner some games.

Pinpoint is definitely having an effect, but I think buddy is talking about the “ball one, ball two, ball three, strike one (high fastball), ball four” guys.

There’s nibbling, and then there’s guys that don’t challenge in hitter’s counts.

You mean the guys that spike it in the dirt two or three times and then throw it up and in?

Ha! I guess so. I just kind of group them all into if and when they challenge the hitter.

I think this goes back to the true outcome thing. People seem to see strikeouts as the goal when pitching in this game, when the goal is actually to get outs.

What is with this game with all online players throwing the same two pitches all game. High fastballs and low off speed that even perfect swings won't hit. Every game is the exact same, it is completely ruining this game. I'd rather deal with the connection issues than this.

Crush the high fastballs and layoff the junk. Patience man.

If you cannot hit those pitches, why would they throw something different? Especially something that you can hit? The goal of the game is to keep you from being able to hit the ball!!!

Seriously though, you will see that simplistic pattern from a lot of not that great players. Many players refuse to throw strikes even to their detriment.

Remember that this is a game of adjustments. As you adjust to your opponent’s sequences, he will also adjust, if he is any good.

I have found there are basically two kinds of pitchers. 1) guys that throw strike one, ball one, 2) guys that throw ball one, ball two. Occasionally you see 3) strike one, strike two, chase pitch.

There are variations, but it’s very common, if you start taking pitches, to see guys that go 3-0, throw one high fastball for a strike, then ball four hoping you chase.

I love dudes who only throw the same pitches in the same spot. Just sit and wait for whichever one you want to slam over the wall.

Yep but the problem is that certain spots you have to be precise to hit. Most guys throw the exact same and I beat most of them but if I’m the away team I get effed. I mean 9/10 dude I play are so predictable. The problem comes with connection. I’m almost baffled at how predictable most pitchers are. And the worst is they rage quit when you yack, but they literally throw the exact same sequence every time.... I mean helloooo . I’m successful most of the time by deceiving them and pitching to contact, by tunnel or general tendency pitches. But these idiots get mad when you hit a bomb on a away slider that they have thrown 14 times on the second pitch lolol

Exactly, thats how you pitch. I didnt say I didnt like it I was just pointing out to OP that is how the Show has always been. You have to learn how to hit the inside fastballs/sinkers

Are you throwing high off-speed pitches? If so, I am guessing you are not getting great results.

I throw a high curvball in Coors Field once ... The ball land in my backyard in Canada
